Your idea of having players who say they have difficulty reading the dice call out their rolls is a good one. Except when that player is also losing his hearing so that his calling the roll out disturbs everybody else in the room!

And when bad guy opponent hears sight-challenged good guy call out the wrong number that is to bad guy's advantage, we've opened another can of worms. Maybe we could have opponent read the dice roll and have sight-challenged guy concur, so that it is like a 'two-phase commit' in data processing. But wait, then the opponent will lose his running pip count. That's no good.

Maybe larger dice would help, but then what about that guy who sells increasingly shrinking-in-size baffle boxes that the larger dice barely fit through!

My brain hurts!
