This roll allows to build a tandem team of checkers: Either on the 18- and 16-point, or on the 10- or 8-point. The third variant secures the checker on the 8-point by 8/2. The latter play looks wrong, since it completely disconnects the two stragglers. I tend to b/24 16/10, because it both puts pressure on the blot on the 20-point and it duplicates the 3's.
