Actually, it looks like I misremembered a few details from this 2010 discussion.

According to Xavier's post, "the seed does not depend of cube, score and dice and who is on roll." So, it appears that the ND and D/T lines will both have the same dice seed in the XGR, XGR+, and XGR++ evaluations. However, there are enough other reasons (given in my original post) why XGR, XGR+, and XGR++ often conclude that D/T is better than ND even if the position is clearly an optional-double.
