Probably a good assumption, but don't put it past Ed to have a copy of Tom Weaver's and Tom Johnson's Expert Backgammon for the PC (EXBG), the last 'decent' non-neural net bot. In fact I'd say it's near 100% that he does have a copy, but OTOH unlikely he would be able to get much use from it 20+ years after it was sidelined by Jellyfish.
