Is All Equity Equal?

Short answer is that, yes, all (non-normalized) equity is equal and additive. In the first follow-up question, I think you are implicitly making the weird assumption that you could not outplay your opponent at all in the rest of the game if you didn't double now. If that assumption were indeed appropriate, then b) would be correct. Also yes to the chouette question, you should drop the strongest opponent. Actually it would be enough if you would expect him to improve the team's play by only at most 0.025 EMG cumulated over the rest of the game because of the higher cube level. Here I am assuming that your own cumulative error doesn't increase against the weak players and that the 'big 0.80 take' assumption you started with was practically correct against the team including the strong player. Actually, there are probably more assumptions I have made tacitly and unawares. I just hope they align with yours. Timothy's posting is good.
