I raised the option of an appeals committee but Rory rejected that, as I believe was his right as TD. And I believe his decision was reasonable: he canvassed opinion from parts far and wide. I know of at least 10 experienced players and TDs he consulted before making his ruling, including TDs who were not even present. He thoroughly understood the issues involved and made a reasonable decision both as to Michel's duty to speak up and as to the remedy of rewinding play to the point where the initial failure to hit the clock took place.
