Getting a very late shot in a deep backgame happens now and again of course, but it seems rather too rarely for XG to understand the resulting extreme containment positions. I've noticed the same sort of weird unfathomable moves XG comes out with in such situations. I remember reading that XG has a second NN for backgames, but I really think it needs more training. Or maybe a third NN specifically for containment after the backgame hits.
