GridGammon issue with maintaining match state?

I had a similar problem yesterday. My opponent and I agreed to take a break during a match, so he left the table back to the lobby. Grid normally saves the match anytime any player leaves the table, but when our break was over, there was no 'unfinished' match to resume, so we had to start another match and do resigns to get to the score before he left the table. Most unusual, even though we are used to the Grid's server being a bit unstable at times.
