Transcription backlog update

Hi!

I have started to transcribe matches from the backlog and so far I have done:

Swedish Open 2012 - Konrad Fröschl vs Raj Jansari: http://www.backgammonstudio.com/index.php?gotomenu=startmatch&argument=8146

2012 LA Open Eliot Bean vs. Gary Bauer - Chicago Open - Round 3: http://www.backgammonstudio.com/index.php?gotomenu=startmatch&argument=8147

TXBG - Ed OLaughlin & Dorn Bishop: http://www.backgammonstudio.com/index.php?gotomenu=startmatch&argument=8148

TXBG - Petko vs. Ashkenazi: http://www.backgammonstudio.com/index.php?gotomenu=startmatch&argument=8154

TXBG - Rory Pascar vs. Arkady Tsinis: http://www.backgammonstudio.com/index.php?gotomenu=startmatch&argument=8155

TXBG - Jason Lee vs. Harvey Gillis: http://www.backgammonstudio.com/index.php?gotomenu=startmatch&argument=8156

Falafel vs Malcolm Davis: http://www.backgammonstudio.com/index.php?gotomenu=startmatch&argument=8157

I gave up on a couple of matches:

2012 LA Open - Ed O'Laughlin (Bottom) vs. Howard Markowitz - USBGF Match - Part 1.flv -- This match is not good for transcription. Entire end of game 4 miss missing. Scorecard is not displayed so it is impossible to tell who won that game.

TXBG - Falafel vs Gary Oleson - Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1ifsT1g4xU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oo7zXxrnms0 -- too many video freezes to be possible to transcribe

In other news

It is now possible to subscribe to transcriber uploads. Go to My actions/My settings/User settings:

and change the option there. You should get an email with the name of the match that was just uploaded. I guess this notification concept could be extended to include uploading of matches to the public database, whenever a new training track is added, whenever someone beats your highscore and I guess a few other cases.

Extra care should be taken when trying to transcribe matches with backgammon giants involved as I suspect some might have tried to do those matches before and have failed.

Best regards,
TP
