In Response To: Now or later? - ++ + Variant (Stick)

I always find it interesting in my daily play when I specifically point out a general position and then shortly afterwards a similar position (or the exact same even!) presents itself. Today while playing XG I had this position:

White is Player 2

score: 0
pip: 149
Unlimited Game
Jacoby Beaver
pip: 116
score: 0

Blue is Player 1
XGID=---AbCDBC---d---abBbbb----:0:0:1:65:0:0:3:0:10
Blue to play 65

eXtreme Gammon Version: 2.10

If you look at the original and the variant in this thread it is dead obvious here that we don't play 18/7 but it still made me think of it. One reason it was so dead obvious though aside from the reason/variant I pointed out in the original thread was the opp's 9pt blot which made for many extra shots if we were to leave that point. If we were to tailor the position to something similar to the original thread we get the same type results.
