How should Blue play 42 in the third roll position above?

By the way, Martin's feature position (diagrammed below) can be reached after five completed moves (with one error of less than .01, else perfect, according to XGR++ evaluation), with Blue's 42 being the sixth roll. You can treat it as a retro-puzzle, or if you want to know the answer, ask me here.
