Perhaps between the arguments of those who promote the idea of competitive backgammon tournaments being played on computer screens and the tendency to shame everyone into playing the XG-sanctioned opening plays, we can look forward to a time when we will no longer set up the opening checker position and will instead tap for one of the equally likely 3rd-roll positions, at least between players who have achieved an approved level of PR prowess.
