It's a take due to score, where single win% is almost all that matters with cube on 4.

By doubling you're cutting down a lot of the value of your gammons, and backgammons doesn't matter. By not doubling you benefit from single wins, gammons, and backgammons, so you shouldn't double. Therefore it is too good, as well as not good enough.
