First, if I raise now I may push out other draws but why are you so sure these people are calling to begin with? As I said in my initial post, I would expect the players behind me to fold unless they already hit it rather hard. Second, by raising now I'm not isolating the initial raiser, he is isolating me. You don't think when it gets back to him with everyone having folded and his overpair that he's going to push? If he thinks he's good, which he likely would read me for a flush draw, or maybe top pair with an ace kicker or an open ended straight, he pushes. This is the wrong line. You're often taking away my ability to ever push him off the hand and having me get all my chips in the middle when I'm 25%. (and that's assuming someone behind me doesn't have a monster and I'm even worse than that when I raise)
