bearing off question

I would play 4/1.
After this turn, Blue will have an even number of checkers remaining. He will be one roll ahead of his opponent White. It would be nice not to miss again. Filling the 1pt is the best way to avoid missing in the follow-up.
Blue's 4pt is "heavy." Playing 3/1 fills a gap on the 1pt, while smoothing the overall distribution. Playing 6/3 fills a gap, but does not smooth the distribution.
A gap on the 1pt will be a risk to the end. If Blue rolls four numbers that are greater than 3 before he rolls a 3, a gap on the 3pt won't be an issue. That is not as unlikely as it sounds.
When Blue does roll an early 3, there is still a chance that White will miss as well. White has a gap on his 2pt. That will probably be more troublesome than Blue's gap on the 3pt.
If Blue rolls a 3 before he rolls a 6, he can fill his gap. After that, his next miss is "free" (because he will have an odd number of checkers remaining). It is likely that Blue will miss no more than twice.
