If most sequences lead to a cash, then it's often best to play safe. The bold play risks "losing your cash" by letting your opponent hit, while at the same time overshooting on the good sequences.

However, here you're not in such a strong position. The bold play gives you an efficient double (not an overshoot) on good sequences, and therefore makes the most of your cube access. The safe play doesn't give you an efficient double.
