Larsen-Silliman ranking of U.S. players - Akiko moves to #1

The latest "Larsen/Silliman" ranking of the top 500 U.S. players [people who played in U.S. tournaments] can be seen here: http://kenlarsennc.com/bgUSratingLarsenSilliman.htm It's based on a weighted scale of USBGF Master points accumulated in main events within the last 5 years.

We've called it the “Larsen/Silliman U.S. Backgammon Ranking” to distinguish it from other rankings that people may create. “Silliman” refers to Barry Silliman who wrote software to read USBGF loaded draw sheets that have been collected since 2009.

Each ranking treats the current year as the most recent 12 month period (not calendar year). As we progress through 2016, new tournaments from 2016 will be added, and old ones from 2011 will be dropped.

Akiko Yazawa has displaced Mochy as number 1. Mochy had been number 1 for almost all of the time since Barry and I began posting our ranking a few years ago.
