Larsen-Silliman ranking of U.S. players

Poker, golf, and tennis each consider a much shorter duration ... mostly just the last 2 years. Barry and I went with a longer duration for the reason you cite. We deemed 7 or 8 years to be an excessively long time, so we compromised at 5 years.

Note that we weight the years, so results in the most recent 12 month period count more than earlier results. It's a sliding scale where results from 5 years ago count a lot less.

There are many components in our ranking system that could be tweaked. We welcome feedback from the bgonline community. Thanks for yours.
