To hit an 8 shot:

If the first die is a 2 thru 6, 5/6, you have 11/36 chance of rolling the corresponding number, plus if it is a 2,3, 5, or 6 you also have 3/36 of rolling an eight that does not include the first die with the last 2 dice. If its a 4, you have a 4/36 chance of rolling and 8 with the last 2 dice, that does not include a 4. In addition, if it is a 2 you have 1/36 chance of rolling 2-2 on the last two dice. If the first die is a 1, you have a 5/36 chance of rolling an 8 on the last two dice (2-2 does not work).

Summing =5/6*11/36 + 3/6*3/36+ 2/6*4/36 +1/6 * 5/36 = .3565
