In Response To: Question about match strategy for Grandmasters (Rick Janowski)

I remember :D

Anyway, I was just offering my tiny bit of data because I thought, and still think, that my accidental experiment is sufficiently similar to the one Timothy proposed. I am not saying that good adaptation leads to the kind of PR's I observed. Gnubg's adaptation is certainly not very good, not only because of the MET, but because it does not take into account the amount of errors that the fish can be expected to make in the ongoing game. And I obtained a third data point for my experiment today. Gnubg with Jac-100 played PR 0.13 in a short 7pt-match with a total of 45 decisions, of which 3 were take decisions. It did not have any doubling decisions.
