Backgammon Dice are NEVER precision dice

In Response To: Backgammon Dice are NEVER precision dice (Phil Simborg)

This seems reminiscent of the 1950s and 60s TV adverts for washing powders with the hidden factor "x", or from a 19th century medicine show selling cure-all potions and liniments. Of course, no physical die is perfectly formed or truly random but to what degree is it in accurate? If the long term average roll from the dice is 3.4999998 or even 2.4998 that might be good enough for the purpose of the game, after all backgammon has survived for centuries without precision dice and still does . Also, how can a player be sure that the program has not been tampered with somehow giving a higher average than normal, and falsifying the dice stats - unlikely but possible. Without having all the facts available, how do we know this isn't some subtle scaremongering designed to boost sales?

I agree with Bob Koca 102 +/- 4%!
