Rollout: Still puzzled

Leaving an interior gap is typically a bad idea so I'm not sure why it's the bot play here. Part of it may be that 4/1(3) keeps a lot of spares on the 6pt and 5pt, and Blue can play any number safely for quite a while. By the time he blots, White may be out of his hair, or he may have enough checkers off that he can survive a hit? Not sure.
