I think the idea in such positions is to not split when there is a blot on the opponent's bar point. This blot is a powerful builder giving white a great diversity of attacking rolls.

From the two remaining candidates for the last ace -- 11/10 and 6/5 -- I prefer the former since it steps up the checker into the zone.
