The way I've always heard it is "Don't volunteer a shot in a holding game" Like every other aphorism, there are exceptions. This appears to be one.

there are two non-blotting plays: 6/1 2/1 and 9/4 9/8. I don't like either. 11/6 11/10 looks stronger - it leaves only four shots, and white can't hit and cover her homeboard blot.

Abandoning the anchor seems like a whopper. Slotting the five might be right at DMP, but is too loose for me AtS. What else is there?
