BMAB (RU) RANKING TOURNAMENT #1 SEPTEMBER 2016 REPORT

The first BMAB tournament held in Russia, in Moscow, has been a tremendous success! Sergey Erokhin, the Director of BMAB (RU), must be applauded for promoting and directing the tournament, whilst also managing the difficult technical requirements of managing several recording stations simultanteously. Moreover, he played in the tournament and achieved the lowest average PR score of 3.46, indicative of Grandmaster performance by a good margin! What a guy!

Generally, the individual performances of the participants were excellent, with eight of the eleven players achieving indicative gradings of Master level or above. After Sergey, Nail Arzukhanov achieved the second lowest PR with an excellent score of 4.49, indicative of Master (Class 1) performance. The attached PR and Gradings Report provides a detailed summary of the results.

As yet, all gradings are pending/undefined until players reach required threshold experience point levels (65 and/or 100 EP). We will have to wait until the next tournament or two before the players are assigned fully representative gradings.

Congratulations to all participants for making the first BMAB tournament such a splendid success. We look forward to seeing many more. Kudos especially to Sergey Erokhin!
