In Response To: Chouette question ( or a case of premature ejection) (Peter Wisniewski)

In our chouette, we generally adopt your final option:

1. The roll should count and the double ignored.

But it hasn't come up often enough for us to state an official policy. If we did have an open debate, then I might be persuaded to switch to either of the following policies:

2. The roll should be negated and only the original doubler should be allowed to double.

3. The roll should be negated and all EXCEPT the Captain should be allowed to double.

But I would personally cross out the remaining two options:

4. The roll should be negated and all should be allowed to double. The captain rolled and should not be allowed to double.

5. The roll should count and the double can be taken or dropped according to the box's whim. The player should not be punished for the captain's mistake.
