Thanks for taking the time to respond Adam and Bill.

Regarding the DGT Easy Plus: If I'm understanding your reservations correctly, I don't think space will be that limited that we will not be able to place the clock flat on the table next to the board, rather than sitting partially on the board. So stability should not be an issue despite the upside-down 'V' shaped design (I hope).

Regarding the Leaps, they are cheap; but after skimming through the manual, they don't seem to support flexible programming for backgammon match timings - just 29 hard and fast presets for chess.

Feedback from end-users still welcome on these or any other inexpensive candidates on the market (under $40 / £35).
