Carolina Invitational ends -- Silicon Valley Open moves to Labor Day

Dear Backgammon Friends,

Robin and I have decided that we will no longer run the Carolina Invitational. I want to thank all the players who have helped make the tournament a success. This was not an easy decision, but we have decided that there are too many other things we want to do with our personal time.

I have agreed to act as a technical consultant to Ken Bame as he moves his Silicon Valley Open to the Labor Day weekend, beginning this year. Details are not fully fleshed out, but his format will be essential the same Swiss system that I used. For the first few years, I will be at the tournament helping with draws and any questions that come up.

Again, thanks to all of you for your support over the years, and I hope to see you at the
