Just change one rule

As i have posted before, i believe Crawford should kick in at 2/away 2/away and remain in affect for the balance of the match. This not only eliminates the "automatic" cube and take, but makes the end of longer mstches much more exciting and skillful. And of course, the teo point match would have far greater complexity.
Of course there are two arguments against this. One is that it lengthens the match. Legitimste, however it lengthens it in a good way--at the end--and it requires more akill to win the match.
The other argument is that, well, it is a change and change is, well, bad.
That is why baseball and football have done so poorly when they went to a playoff system. And that is why backgammon suffered when they added that silly doubling cube.
Lets embrace change when it is a clear improvement!
As for your argument that the 2 pointer allows the better players to take advantage of the weaker player, while I comoletely agree that is true, but in major tournaments how often do you see a srong pass at this score. Yes, you will see people try to get it, but it doesnt happen often. And if it does happen to a weaker player, hopefully he will learn and it wont happen again.
If we really dont want the better players to have an edge based on their skill and knowledge, then I suggest we make the giants all play blindfolded (and allow the rest of us to cheat).
