Fastest/best pipcounting method?

I have found that to me, the fact that I need to keep two separate pipcounts (not just the diff), and that I need to add up numbers like 86 and 47, takes me more time and energy than colorless counting.

However, given how many experienced players (you, Stick and so many more) seem to be using this method, maybe I should consider giving it another try. I am very curious about naccel too.
