Let's say that otherwise opponent is equal to you and a 7 point match and that opponent takes in such a game as though it were a money game. I will also assume that a player ho makes this error would not be using a free drop to get into this situation again. I will guess that you reach such a score abut 20% of the matches. Let's supppose it is at 3a. In that game if you double right away you have the standard 32.3% MWC. If you instead wait you can try to double and get a cash with about 70% win chance (remember gammon threat will help) which means you can win about 2/3 of those games as a single win and then have about 50% at 2a 1a. This gives you about 33.3%. You get that extra 1% 1/5 of the time So my estimate is that it wins you an extra 0.2% of the matches.
