I am glad you have already found a solution, but if it turns out not to work as well as you hope, I've found that BBGT also works with Windows 10.

I am "mamabear" there--it's the first place I ever used that nick. See you soon at FIBS, the only server where you can play backgammon while watching flame wars evolve into international incidents in the shout lobby!
