Good point. My only rule up to now regarding photos was that you should ask permission, and only take a photo after you have declared your intended play.
In this version when the clock is being used, all functions other than gameplay require the clock to be paused. The reasoning was to prevent the clock accidentally running down while editing the player's names or checker colours, for example, if they had not been set properly.
It is trivial to enable the photo function while the clock is running (i’ve just tested it.) This will actually give the players the choice to pause the clock or not. It's quite possible that both players would be very interested in the correct play and would agree to pause the clock.
I suppose I had though that the use of the clock elevates the seriousness of a match to a level way above that of a club swiss tournament ( my usual experience) to a point where you wouldn’t want to annoy your opponent with photographic disruptions and coud well be videoing the match anyway. But if it’s your time you’re wasting, why not?
