Regarding seeding, it is (sadly) rare, of course, in our game. Personally, being unseeded would not put me off entering a tournament.

I would like to point out that the inaugural St Albans Open last year did employ seeding, and the event reached the 64 limit well in advance. The UKBGF rankings were used to separate the top 16 into separate round robin groups of 4 players. This year there will be 4 levels of such seeding, ie also 17-32, 33-48 and 49-64 (assuming the entry again reaches this intended figure). So far, the confirmed entrants seem to be ticking along nicely.
