https://www.twitch.tv/escapeaoe There's a major tourney this weekend and over 2000 people watching right now. Expect more watchers tomorrow for the final rounds starting at 1500 GMT.
Why doesn't BG do something like this?
This game is Age of Empires 2 HD with all its expansions and is available here. http://store.steampowered.com/app/221380/
These tourney games have been played somewhat earlier today and then emailed to the commentators. There are two commentators for each game and after each game an expert commentator who discusses a few key situations with replays.
So while the commentary sounds 100% live it isn't.
Why doesn't BG do something like this? It is much easier to comment on BG plays after the fact since the game is played very quickly. There's also no reason that some BG matches could be done live as they happen while others could be done after the fact. I think it would be nice if XG analysis could automatically be integrated at some point.
Especially if this was done for BG after each game there could be some commentary of key positions and cube decisions supported by RO and discussed by an expert for a couple of minutes.
