Its time to think about World backgammon federation

I agree with most of the things, what we need first I think is a world federation to deal with some issues like a common place where to insert results, to implement a ranking, to build a website with info, to find sponsors, etc Chess is very popular because is pure skill game, poker because it requires almost no skill to learn it but big money is involved. Backgammon is in the middle, maybe someone can find a good way to promote it once we have a federation. I have found by chance this link still active on Sport Illustrated, I found it interesting: http://www.si.com/vault/1964/05/04/606810/everyone-for-backgammon
Regarding seeding I like the idea, in chess the local tournaments have prizes based mainly on entry fees but no one complains about not random draw, actually is the opposite. If we had a ranking like chess it would be easier to convince someone to try to improve his position instead of complaining of the extra 0.1% advantage the top seeds would have. Streaming is great if with commentary, otherwise I think is better to have a livescore with all running matches on a website, technology can help a lot today. Maybe smart phones can be used or electronic score boards can be built to send data to a central device. Exibition matches are important, people like to see big challenges, maybe is time to have a match between the world nr 1 or a pool of best players and a bot as it happened for other disciplines like go and poker. But who can organize such a match, to decide the format and to look for sponsors ?
