"Assuming your infantilizing names are referring to Stick, Mochy, and Michi"
I have never met these people, (in fact, nor anyone else here), in real life. So, I "fictionalized" their names, with a little humor which apparently escaped you, in order to not speak of them personally but instead to refer to them as any Jack, Joe or Jane in the bg gambling community...
"just because they find it useful as a tool to improve their game it does not follow that they want to "grow up to be like the bots"
Okay, I'll accept that they may be using the bots to improve their games by trying to not play like the bots, (just like Murat does?;)
"you can't conceive of how a method that exploits a weakness in the bot's programming doesn't necessarily remotely transfer to real world playing."
I appreciate this comment because it made me think further on the subject. Looking at Murat's several 100-game sessions, I can't say if he exploits any particular weaknesses in bots but his comments indicate that he sees the reliable predictability of bots as a weakness that can be exploited.
Thus, because a human with a 2.5 PR would be more unpredictable than a 0.0 PR bot, it may indeed be harder to beat such a human than a bot by trying to exploit his predictability.
In fact, there may be other factors to considers such as the bot's dice vs manual dice, which Murat often differentiated/clarified. So, you are right that even only based on this, playing against a 0.0 human using manual dice may not produce the same results as playing against a 0.0 bot using internal dice.
"the aforementioned trio can think and are fully capable of knowing when they should "play like the bot" and when they shouldn't"
If that's the case, why even speak of "playing like the bots"? Let them play always like themselves and let the bots worry about playing like them... ;)
Get it..?? :)
