Well, if the argument is that we need more 'big names' in the finals and seeding is an effective end towards that goal, that must mean less frequent appearances by non-giants. Of course I'm not saying such appearances would never happen -- they would just be less common, and perhaps perceived as substantially less likely than now.

So I'm just asking a genuine question whether the current feeling is that the low-PR players aren't doing well enough. I think the potential for discouraging a certain segment of your base of players not-world-class players should be thoughtfully weighed -- especially if the motivation is to cater to promoters who are at present not even in the picture.

On the scale of things that might get sponsors engaged, I think seeding our existing brackets is pretty low on the list, and it has potential to do some substantial harm right away.
