I don't get XG

Played a game where I cubed, found out it was TG when I analyzed it, opp took, opp hit 2 of mine without me getting any off, I rolled a strong sequence of "no you're not getting on the board" and resigned a backgammon because I couldn't get out of opps home. Had one blot each on 19 and 21 and rolled a 2/1. The roll doesn't show up on analysis and XG says resigning was a blunder. How can it be a blunder when it was a backgammon?? Tried to post position but wasn't able to. Severely affected my rating in the match!
