In addition to the SSD comments, the processor comments, I would also add that you should look into the benchmarks, and see what kind of performance you'd like to get. In the old GNU days, GFLOPS was the one to look at. Tom's hardware (tomshardware.com) is the reference I use for all this coolness.
However, think about a couple of things - do you need a 17" screen on a laptop? Personally, I have been through lots of laptops, and my screen lesson I have learned is that I actually much prefer the 14" screens. If you have real estate concerns, you can always buy a relatively cheap monitor for @ home use to give you that. But, when you are mobile, the weight and size can become a factor.
The final thing I would comment on is the touch screen - again, personally, I don't much care for them, but each to their own - its the kind of thing that you figure out once you've been using them for a while.
Finally, while Ben mentioned cloud storage as a good reason for not needing super large SSD's, and I totally agree with him, but consider getting yourself an external disk drive just to have. Example - when doing a BMAB event, there are often very large video files - if you have enough of them, they will take up space, and its not always practical to kick off a 100gb upload to your cloud of choice. Carry a spare external. They're cheap, and you'll appreciate having one rather than being frustrated and having to solve a problem that you didn't expect could be so impactful.
