Okay -- thanks for the example! I see how you'd make the 4-point here - - to block the 44 . . . but then your own super likely 4's aren't going to play real productively next roll? Maybe it's just as well to make the 5 and bring down your 4 and if he rolls 1 4 you'll be punting away.

My follow-up question is whether knowingly playing with a dice so severely loaded wouldn't mean you essentially have to re-learn your entire game in order to maximize your advantage? For instance, if a 4 is twice as likely as all the other numbers (and wouldn't re really be taking about the 3 being half as likely and maybe the others being about the same? -- but nevermind) -- wouldn't your opening replies and all sorts of other parts of the game need correcting? And wouldn't your play start to look really weird to your opponent / observers?

I'm just thinking it might be easier to just get better at regular backgammon.
