Interesting article, with a somewhat sane and reasoned approach. Most of your comments deserve additions and responses but I'll try to keep it brief and limited to just a few.
"I understand there may be some pride at stake here, so may I suggest that if this is the case, that Jack perhaps just stops referring to Murat as a separate entity..."
Have you been reading any of Murat's articles in RGB? Does he ever sound like he is worried about pride, credibility, popularity, political correctness, etc.??
If Jack Mack had to be someone other than himself, he would most likely be someone like Tim Chow :) who is very susceptible to the "clan pressure"...
What if there are people in this forum who would occasionally agree with Murat or even admire him but can't be open about it for reasons I mentioned above?
The dirt about "bots cheating" and "code theft" surely goes much deeper than what was ever discussed so far. I can understand that some people may not be able to stomach such issues and may want to avoid them but they shouldn't try to make them taboo subjects for everyone else either.
When you say "About not believing the current strongest bot? Its our only frame of reference, there must be an authority. Today it is XG, tomorrow it might be something else." you plainly contradict yourself.
Unless you are referring to a "divine authority", any authority can and indeed must be questioned! Today. Not tomorrow.
All current bots (of the same genetic strand) are fundamentally biased, flawed and wrong to unknown, unknowable extents.
Yet, they are still considered reference simply because there are no alternatives and the entire BG community (with very few exceptions) feel the need to submit to an authority, no matter what it is.
Like you said, "today XG, tomorrow something else" and that "something else" sooner the better...!
