Successful transfer of MS-2007

Thanks, Tim. You're a wealth of information, as usual. (Thanks to Casper, too, for his input.)

I have Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel 2007 on my old laptop. After reading your response(s), I decided I'd be better off transferring those 2007 versions to my new laptop rather than try LibreOffice.

Microsoft (24/7) tech support is quite good. The links to transfer instructions that Microsoft e-mailed me were bogus, but they were helpful on the call-back.

I was pretty sure the answer was yes, but just to make sure I asked the techie if, after uninstalling on the old machine and installing on the new, if all my old docs, transferred by say stick drive, would still be accessible/useable. He said he wasn't sure and was probably too embarrassed to ask his supervisor, so he installed MS 2007 on my new laptop without uninstalling on the old one. Now I can use it on both machines.

The techie asked me afterwards if he had met my needs. I told him he had exceeded my expectations.
