I didn't notice until now that Murat posted a followup.

Murat, you accurately quoted me, and you accurately say here, "It's clear to me that you were concerned about rolling a couple of X2's and leaving a blot." That is absolutely true.

What is not true is that I was talking only about rolling two consecutive X2's on the very next two rolls. Nowhere did I say this. It is obvious that since you have a huge stack on the 4pt that you have plenty of time to roll a couple of X2's (with X ≠ 1) and leave a blot.

You might think that I am arguing ex post facto, but this theme is one that I have discussed multiple times on r.g.b. in the past, as you would no doubt have remembered if you were interested in backgammon strategy instead of in listening to yourself rant incoherently about bots and cube skill all the time.
