It's a while since I looked into that, but if I recall correctly, the inner state of the standard Mersenne Twister consists of 19336 bits. After you have seen a sequence with an information content of 19336 bits give or take one or two, you could theoretically reconstruct the inner state and there would be no randomness left. My estimate for N would thus be 19336/log_2(36).
