You are certainly entitled to define the word "kid" as you please, and if I am using the term improperly, I apologize, as I mean no negative intent.
However, I did look up "kid" in dictionary.com and aside from references to animals, here is what it says:
noun 1. Informal. a child or young person.
I consider anyone under 26 years of age to be in that category.
Can you show me where it says that a "kid" is someone between the ages of 0-17? You are entitled to think of the term that way, but I am also, I believe more accurate to use the term the way I intended. "A young person."
I did use the term "kid" as a shortcut here. In our official literature we call them students, as the intent of our program is to involved "younger people" still in school.
