I don't see how that definition agrees with your idea of up to 26. It uses a vague definition of young person. If instead you are talking about the second part then it includes everyone since everyone has parents.

I googled "kid's tournament" and looked at the first results that I saw. This is not a cherrypicked list. I looked at several more and could not find any where kid ever meant beyond 18.

First golf result: http://www.uskidsgolf.com/tournaments This is for ages 5 - 12

Firt martial arts result: http://ibjjf.com/championship/american-national-kids-jiu-jitsu/ This has a maximum age of 17.

Jeopardy: https://www.jeopardy.com/tournaments/upcoming-tournaments They have a kids week. The link to more info was broken but since they also had a teen tournament a guess is 12 maximum.

Wisconsin Wrestling Federation Kids Folkstyle Tournament http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/document/0111/8332/2017_WWF_FS_State_Info.pdf

Born in 2002 or later so max of 15.

First fishing result: http://bocagrandecharities.org/ "Worlds greatest kids fishing tournament" Maximum age of 15.
