What's a few blots and shots among friends?

To me it's the choice between 21/16 18/14 and 18/14 10/5.
I think 21/16 18/14 is less commital and keeps better communication and doesn't give him any good hits. If he hits from the 16, he disconnects. If he hits from 13, he might wanted to use that 2 or 4 to split the back men instead. We keep the frontal structure flexible.
Slotting our 5 gives him REALLY good 4s, and we don't have many good covers except of aces. We will be on the bar mostly next turn, so even if we cover, we usually expose another blot in our outfield, and we might get pushed too much behind and get disconnected later on. On the other hand, if we manage to cover the 5 with an ace, it's really good vs White's 2 back men. We can certainly offer a strong cube (and probably a cash) then. Still, happens too rarely.
I'd go with the more flexible 21/16 18/14.
