Testing Your Chouette Action

I have heard those arguments about the "social" aspects of the game and "educational" for the lower level players, and while there is some merit to the arguments, I maintain that they are trumped (pardon the word) by the negatives.
The game can still be very social and very educational with discussion AFTER the game. You can still take pictures of positions and put them in XG and bet on them and discuss them and still get explanations from the better players as to why they made a certain play.
As for the "social" aspects of the chouette, it depends on the chouette...the stakes and the players. If you are playing in a $3 or $5 chouette and people are relaxing and having fun, then why not have consulting all the time and trash talking and arguments and bets and extras galore? But if the stakes are $100 a point is that what you want? And where, inbetween $3 and $100 do you draw the line?
And again, it also depends on the mix of the people. Some consulting chouettes are very nice and friendly, and others we see players bullying people and yelling and insisting. And of course, when you have different players with cubes in different places, there really are problems, as a hit might be right for one player and not for the other. That's why the equal action on the cubes is also important.
