Seems to me that hitting is the wrong idea here. White would be perfectly content to sit on the bar for a while while blue crunches.

OTOH, if blue allows a second checker to be sent back, he's in real danger of being gammoned if he doesn't anchor. Hitting would give him more chances to anchor if he's hit, but also more chances for white to wing a gammon.

I'll try 6/2 4/2 and hope for the best. White will need a five to escape her runner, and maybe she'll crack first.
